A Weekend In Quebec City {Photos}

Have you been to Quebec City before? If you haven't, you should go. Or at least add it to your list. We were itching to take a long weekend trip before summer merges right into fall and taking some time to unplug and recharge in this very European feeling city just seemed right. After about 6 hours in the car, we ended up in the middle of this vibrant, French speaking, beer drinking and poutine eating city. We joined in immediately and walked the streets for hours, fumbled with kindergarden level French, drank Canadian wine and beer and ate all the local fare we could stomach until we had to finally drag ourselves home. But enough from me...here's the pictures from our trip.

We had the most incredible duck pizza under that blue striped roof. Sadly, not pictured, but just know it happened.

Because it's weird to be on vacation and not have a burger. The name of this place? Le Chic Shack. Yes, for real.

And because why would you just have simple fries to accompany your burger when you can split an order of coq au vin Poutine?

Street performers are such a big thing. Hundreds of people gather. They are loud and extra theatrical. Here's the view of one of them from a restaurant we were at.

Although not pictured, we had drinks and an incredible, local cheese plate in this hotel, looking out onto the water. If you're ever in Quebec City, you must go here.

On our way home, we stopped at local Fromageries where we fumbled even more with the language and were rewarded for our detour with squeaky, locally made cheese curds that we brought home by the bagful, which was the perfect ending to such a magical trip. We'll be back for you, Quebec City, that's for sure.
