Whew. Writing that title made this all seem so, very real.
I'm writing a cookbook.
I just had to say that again. Pinch me, this can't be real, can it?
I just signed my contract and it's official in the most surrealist of ways. Writing a cookbook was one of those things that I always had hoped I'd do and here it is. My life is suddenly absorbed in putting together Table of Contents and starting to layout recipes and trying to plan out photos and I couldn't be happier.
It all started with sandwiches, something I have a close and personal relationship with. We work crazy weird hours and when we do eat, it tends to be at odd hours and made from what we have on hand. 9 and a half times out of ten, it's a sandwich in some sort of form that we're going for. They're easy to make, filling, and to me, completely satisfying. Also, because we try to keep our nutrition in check, we look to incorporate as many fresh vegetables, fruits and nutritionally whole ingredients into these sandwiches as we can. It's like nutrition on the fly, served up via sandwich. These sorts of nutritionally whole and healthy ingredients (think sweet potatoes, blueberries, avocados, etc.) have a name - Superfoods. And from that, Superfoods Sandwiches became an approved book by the folks at Fair Winds Press, part of Quarto Publishing Group, and can be yours for the taking as of June, 2015. It's been a crazy couple of days and I've been so blown away by the support that I've already received for this project. It's made the start of this process extra special and I'm so excited to really get into it. I'll be updating my progress and bringing you along with me. It's going to be a fun ride, stay tuned!
