I'm breaking from my posts about our European vacation to talk about exciting news that is happening THIS WEEK!
Last year, right around this time exactly, my husband and I were both writing cookbooks. Now, they're finally coming out! Richard's book, written in conjunction with the very talented Sam Monsour and the folks at Union Park Press comes out this week and there's a weekend full of fun activities throughout the city to celebrate it's arrival. Here's a rundown on what's happening:
Saturday, May 16th, the guys will be at the West Elm store near Fenway Park grilling up burgers and signing books. This is a great opportunity to not only eat burgers, but to hang out with these guys and talk all things burger! They'll be there from 1 PM - 3 PM. Stop by!
Also on Saturday, there are several restaurants throughout the city that will have burger specials on their menus in celebration of the book. Stay tuned for a full list of participating restaurants!
On Sunday, rest up because you're going to need your energy for Monday night! Boston Chops will be hosting the official American Burger Revival release party on Monday, May 18th. Starting at 9 PM, the public is invited to come meet the burger bro's, eat more burgers, drink beverages, and just hang out. Come hang out, grab a book, get it signed, and have fun!
The party keeps rolling into Tuesday where the boys host a block party at the South End's vintage cookbook store, Farm and Fable. They'll be showing you how to make the perfect burger starting with a meat grinding demonstration, using meat from Savenor's, custom made English muffin buns from Stone and Skillet, cheese from Formaggio, and Urban Grape will be on hand to pass out beer samples that will compliment the burgers. The event is free and open to the public.
I'll be at all of these events too, hope you can make out to meet the fellas, grab a copy of their book, and kick off the summer with lots of burger fun! If you can't make it to any of these events you can still get a copy of the book by ordering it from wherever books are sold online, or it is available in stores this week!
